1. Incremental rotary encoders have a difference in resolution, measured using the number of pulses generated per revolution, the number ranges from 6 to 5400 or higher, the more pulses, the higher the resolution; this is one of the important bases for selection.
2. Incremental encoder usually has three signal outputs (differential has six signals): A, B and Z, generally using TTL level, A pulse in front, B pulse in the back, A, B pulse difference of 90 degrees, each circle issued a Z pulse, can be used as a reference mechanical zero. Generally use A ahead of B or B ahead of A to judge the direction.
3. Using PLC to collect data, high-speed counting module can be used; using industrial control machine to collect data, high-speed counting board can be used; using microcontroller to collect data, it is recommended to use the input port with photo coupler.
4. It is recommended that B pulse do forward (forward) pulse, A pulse do reverse (backward) pulse, and Z origin zero pulse.
